Why aerosol fillers are harmless for the ozone layer?

This is not true and at Envasado Xiomara, your aerosol filler company, this is now explained. Stay tuned!

Your aerosol filler company explains why the ozone layer is not damaged with our products

In 1989, under the Montreal Protocol, all chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) were removed as propellants in aerosols and were replaced totally by other harmless products.

According to one of the first studies about the impact of these new substances, performed in the United States, the compounds that replaced chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) and halons, held responsible for the depletion of the ozone layer surrounding the Earth, are not dangerous to the ozone.

Some compounds of these substances, such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), contain some molecules, composed of three fluorine and one hydrogen atoms, which may react with the stratospheric ozone and cause its depletion. Nonetheless, hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) have a short lifespan and thus they are less harmful for the ozone.

As a result of the Montreal Protocol and due to the initiative carried out by aerosol manufactures themselves, the propellant was changed to prevent damage to the natural filter that protects us from ultraviolet rays of the sun and the final disposal of CFC was established worldwide. Therefore, aerosol products can be purchased with the security that no damage will be caused to the ozone layer.

Nevertheless, it seems that the idea continues to connect the depletion of the ozone layer with these aerosols.
